Broodmare Care

Our Broodmare Board is structured to best support our long-term broodmares residents. These mares are kept together in one of our large grass pastures. They are closely monitored and receive the highest quality pasture and feed to support overall health and increased nutritional needs.

Our breeding and broodmare programs are supported by reproductive specialist, Dr. Christine Bartley of River Valley Equine. Dr. Bartley completed a year-long internship at Rood and Riddle Equine Hospital, where she discovered her passion for reproduction. After her internship, she was invited to stay at Rood and Riddle as an associate veterinarian. During this time, she also worked for two years as a resident veterinarian at a prestigious Thoroughbred farm in Lexington. In addition to Dr. Bartley, our farm is in close proximity to two of the best veterinary hospitals in the county - Rood & Riddle Reproductive Center, Hagyard Equine Medical Institute.
